Listing of Districts Offering CTE Programs – Provide students instruction and experience in the real-world application of academic skills, industry-based skill standards and interpersonal workplace skills and behaviors in order to become intern-ready for employment and/or post-secondary education. These programs also provide students the opportunity to earn college credit while in secondary CTE programs.

Internships & Job Shadowing Opportunities
General Motors Student Corp – 10-week summer internship program for high school students who will work with GM retirees and U-D students on community service projects while learning skills that will prepare them for college.
Grow Detroit’s Young Talent – Provides summer employment for students and those ages 14-21 along with work readiness training.
MDOT Metro Region Youth Development & Mentoring – Internships in areas such as civil engineering, road construction and transportation fields.
MI Bright Future – Web resource that provides information on mentoring and job shadowing opportunities, along with internships.
Transportation and Civil Engineering Program (TRAC) Pipeline Internships – Summer Internships for 12th grade students who are in TRAC classes in high school. Opportunities to work with MDOT civil engineers.
