Local Job Programs For Youth
Black Family Development – Restoring our Youth – Provides summer employment opportunities along with other wrap around services such as academic and life skills support.
CARES – Career Awareness and Readiness Equals Success (CARES) is Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation (DESC) work readiness and career awareness training program.
Grow Detroit’s Young Talent – Provides summer employment for students and those ages 14-21 along with work readiness training.
MI Bright Future – Provides a significant number of resources focused on connecting students to real-world experiences, including mentoring, job shadowing, career exploration, and much more.
Out-Wayne County Paid Work Experience – Places qualifying students, serves as employer of record, and visits the worksite to support administration of program and monitor student success.
Skilled Trades Job Fair – Hosted by the Occupational Programs department at Schoolcraft College.
Wayne County Foster Care Summer Youth Employment Program – Provides employment opportunities, along with other career related services for youth in foster care.
Youth Career Center – The Center is a Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation (DESC) program linking Detroit residents ages 16-24 to education, training and a future career.
